WHAT IS TRIAMCINOLONE ACETONIDE?

Triamcinolone Acetonide is an intermediate acting corticosteroid with a very insignificant mineralocorticoid or sodium retaining activity. It’s efficacy and safety make it a widely used corticosteroid in most countries. As a topical application, it is indicated in the treatment of the inflammatory, allergic & pruritic manifestations of steroid-responsive dermatoses. Tricort Cream is highly recommended for eczemas and insect bites in children to prevent scarring.

Tricort Cream is Triamcinolone Acetonide 0.1% in a cream base indicated for the treatment of the inflammatory and pruritic manifestations of both adult and pediatric dermatoses like atopic dermatitis, seborrheic dermatitis, contact dermatitis and other eczemas, insect bites, prurigo mitis, neurodermatitis, psoriasis, DLE, lichen planus, pompholyx and other steroid responsive dermatoses.

REMINDER

Just like the other corticosteroid preparations, widespread and prolonged use should be supervised by a physician due to the possible side effects like secondary infection, acne, degenerative changes like skin atrophy, telangiectasia, striae and systemic complications. Use of corticosteroids is contraindicated in skin infections.
